8 Home Remedies For Under-Eye Bags

Thanks to those bags under your eyes, People around you know that there is something wrong with you, you are unwell or stressed out or age is catching up fast. In spite of having a clear skin and sharp features, your under-eye bags can mar the beauty of your face in more ways than one.

Don’t panic. Whether caused by lack of sleep, excess work, emotional stress or dark skin texture, we all go through the sad saga of under-eye bags at some point in our life. Simple home remedies go a long way in minimizing this puffiness and bringing out the brightness in your eyes.

Home Remedies For Under-Eye Bags

Application of Juices

Apply a paste made form tomato juice, lemon juice, very little turmeric powder and a half teaspoon of gram flour on the affected area. Keep for 10 minutes and then wash with water. You can also dip cotton balls in cucumber or potato juice and place them on your eyes for 15 minutes.

Alternatively, you can cover your eyelids with slices of raw potato or cucumber for 15-20 minutes. Wash with warm water and apply a mild under eye cream thereafter. Another good home remedy is to apply mint juice on the under eye area and leave on for 20 minutes.

You can also make a paste of pineapple juice and turmeric powder and apply it under your eyes to remove the bags. These juices have natural enzymes which help in treating under-eye bags effectively.

Rose Water

Dip cotton balls in chilled water or in rose water and keep for 5-10 minutes on the eyes.  You can also apply this efficient pack at night and go off to sleep.

Use of Spoons

Keep 2 rounded metal spoons in the refrigerator for some time and hold the rounded side against the puffed under-eye area for a few minutes. This will instantly reduce the symptoms of bags under the eyes.

Tea Bags

Place chilled used tea bags on closed eyes for 10 minutes. This is one of the simplest ways to remove under-eye bags caused by stress.

Lavender Oil

Boil one tablespoon water and add one drop of lavender oil to it. Use this water to bathe the eye from outside. This works magically to treat eye bags.

Parsley

Put parsley leaves in a cup of boiling water and soak cotton balls in it. Use the soaked balls as eye pads for 10 minutes. This is another magical remedy to treat eye bags instantly.

Power Packs for Eyes

Make a paste by mixing almond powder in milk and apply it under the eyes. Wash after 10-15 minutes. Mix crushed parijat flowers (night jasmine) with curd and apply this pack under your eyes. Leave for 10 minutes and then wash with cold water.

Magic Drink for Eyes

Prepare a juice of tomatoes and a few mint leaves. Add salt to taste and drink it daily. This will surely help to heal the tired eyes.

While treating under-eye bags, some ancillary measures such as consuming a healthy balanced diet, rich in vitamins and minerals, regular exercise and deep breathing techniques , also help in making the eyes look brighter and free from puffiness.
