Share

Welcome Mr. Winter but please do not bring along Ms.Crack-heels, but I guess he is deaf! Come winter and you are bound to have cracked heels which can be hurtful and are definitely an eyesore. But, more than winter’s fault, a pair of cracked heels is a case of negligence.

You tend and care for your body but forget about the heels that actually needs a lot of attention. Let’s take a look at some simple home remedies so that you can kiss cracked heels good-bye.

Home Remedies For Cracked Heels

Oil Overnight Therapy

Olive oil is an excellent source of Vitamin E and moisturizes skin well and so is Sesame oil. Every night before going to bed, apply some olive oil or some sesame oil to your heels. Massage the heels well with the oil.

Now put on a pair of socks and go to bed. Let the oil stay overnight. In the morning you’ll notice that the heels are softer. Now, scrub the heels with a brush. You can also put coconut oil if you do not have olive oil or sesame oil at home.

Over Ripe Banana

An excellent remedy to treat cracked heels is over ripe banana. Take a banana and let it ripe on its own. When the skin has turned almost black and it feels really squishy to touch, peel the banana and mash it.

Apply these to your cracked heels and let it remain for 15-20 minutes. Wash off with some lukewarm water. If you suffer from serious cracking problems you can mash an avocado along with the banana and apply to the affected heels. Avocado contains some essential oils that can help heal your heels.

Wax With Mustard

This remedy is for stubborn cracks which do not go away easily. Get some paraffin wax. In case you do not have paraffin wax, break a candle and put the pieces in a vessel. Add some mustard oil to this and gently heat it. Soak your feet in tepid water and scrub the heels gently.

Once done, apply this paste of wax and mustard to your cracked heels. This can be done before going to bed. Just put on a pair of socks and let the paste remain overnight. Do this every alternate day and you’ll have beautiful crack-free heels in 2 weeks!

Rosewater

Mix equal amounts of rosewater and glycerin and shake well. Apply this regularly to the cracked areas. This soothes the skin and helps the heels heal faster.

Lemon Scrub

Soak your feet in some warm water and scrub the heels well. Squeeze some lemon juice into a bowl and add some Vaseline to it.

Mix well with the finger tips. Dry your feet and apply the lemon juice to the heels. Rub well till the skin has soaked in all of the juice and Vaseline.

Aloe Vera

Extract some fresh aloe vera gel and rub onto the cracked heels. You can also add 1 teaspoon turmeric paste, 1 teaspoon basil (tulsi) paste and 1 pinch camphor to the gel and use this for the rub. This will give you smooth and soft heels in no time at all.
