The other factors of LBP are excess weight and poor strength and flexibility of the muscles surrounding the hips and the back. There are a few natural methods to reduce the LBP and they are as follows.
Being active is the best medicine for LBP. Regular aerobic exercises such as walking, bicycling, stretching, and swimming are very useful. Stretching exercises done in yoga, tai chi, and pilates will help reduce or relieve the LBP.
Doing yoga and pilates will help in improving blood circulation, muscle strength, and body flexibility which in turn helps in reducing the pain, but be careful not to overdo any exercise.
The principle of reflexology says that all body parts are connected to reflexes in the hands as well as the feet. The reflexes get stimulated when pressure is applied with the thumb and the fingers, reducing stress and tension and improving blood circulation in the back.
Acupuncture involves inserting needles into specified points in the body thus stimulating the release of endorphins (pain-relieving). It also helps in blood circulation, which helps in relieving the pain and also influences the nervous systems. Acupuncture must be done only under the guidance of a professional.
Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme found in the fruit and the stem of the pineapple plant and is used as a supplemental ingredient. Having 1,000 mg of bromelain along with 500 mg of quercetin at least 4 times a day will reduce the pain.
You should have this in between the meals. Bromelain is also used as an anti-inflammatory agent in injuries such as sprains, surgery, etc.

Having nutritional supplements containing high levels of essential fatty acids (omega 6 and omega 3) helps in reducing sciatic nerve pain. Sciatica is pain or numbness caused due to irritation of the nerve roots leading to the sciatic nerve. Since these fatty acids contain anti-inflammatory properties, they help in eliminating the pain and inflammation caused due to sciatica.
Have 1 tablespoon of flaxseed oil in combination with evening primrose oil (3 capsules). This will help in reducing the LBP. You can also substitute black currant oil (500 milligrams) and fish oil (1,000 milligrams) for the primrose capsules and the flaxseed oil respectively.
Turmeric has several anti-inflammatory and pain-relief benefits. It is also used in traditional medicines for improving blood circulation and reducing the pain caused due to sprains and inflammation. Turmeric has an active ingredient called curcumin, which reduces the levels of enzymes in the body causing the inflammation.
Having 250-500 mgs of turmeric supplement reduces acute sciatic nerve pain. Do not take this supplement when you are pregnant or having ulcers or gallstones.
