These symptoms are more dominant in the night and early morning. Asthma attacks come suddenly and the symptoms are more severe than usual. The attacks can be mild, moderate or severe. During the attack the muscles around the airways tighten up and further narrow the airways. Very little air is able to flow through the airways and the inflammation increases the production of mucus which further constricts the airflow. In some asthma attacks the oxygen is unable to reach the lungs. This prevents oxygen from entering the bloodstream and being carried to the vital organs of the body.
Asthma is mainly caused by allergic reactions triggered by antibodies in the blood which lead to the inflammation of the airways. Cloves have powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which decrease the inflammation and swelling and allow the free passage of air to and from the lungs.

At the onset, an asthma attack allows enough air to reach the lungs but it does not let the carbon dioxide leave the leave the lungs fast enough. This leads to less and less air reaching the blood stream which increases the discomfort tremendously.
