How To Get Rid Of Mouth Ulcers

Mouth ulcers are a common ailment from which everyone suffer frequently.The ulcers appear inside the mouth, on the soft palate, tongue, inside of the cheeks, base of the tongue and the inside of the lip. The sores are usually white with a red halo. They cause intense pain and burning and speaking, eating and drinking become very painful. The onset of the ulcer is accompanied by a tingling and burning sensation in the mouth.

The ulcers are not contagious but they tend to occur on and off and last for about a week or fifteen days. Minor ulcers also known as aphthous ulcers are the most common form of mouth ulcers which affect children as well as adults quite often during a year. Complex ulcers are less common and they usually occur as a recurring form of previous ulcers. Mouth ulcers are generally caused by uncommon stress, poor dental hygiene, stomach diseases, deficiencies of iron and vitamin B12 and C, hormonal imbalance, bowel disease and accidental bites in the mouth and the cheek.

Best Ways To Get Rid Of Mouth Ulcers

Aloe Vera Juice

Take a fresh leaf of aloe vera and peel it. Blend the pulp with a little water in a mixer grinder. Gargle your mouth with the juice thus obtained, three times daily.

Aloe vera has powerful antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It will reduce the pain in the ulcer and help it to heal rapidly. It will also take care of any unwanted bacteria in the mouth and keep it free from infection.

Fenugreek Leaves

Take one cup of fresh fenugreek leaves and boil them in three cups of water, on a low heat for three to four minutes. Strain the liquid and when it cools a little, gargle with it three or four times daily.

The powerful healing properties of fenugreek leaves will provide considerable relief in the pain and will heal the ulcers swiftly. You should also prepare the leaves with vegetables and consume twice daily.

Turmeric

Take a teaspoon of turmeric powder and mix it with a little glycerine to form a paste. Coat all the ulcers with this paste and keep for half an hour after which you can rinse your mouth with water.

Apply the paste three times regularly until the ulcers are completely healed. Turmeric has powerful antibiotic and pain healing properties which will alleviate the pain and facilitate rapid healing.

Fresh Coconut

Take a piece of fresh coconut and chew it slowly. Collect the juice into your mouth and with the help of your tongue sweep the milk over the ulcers as frequently as possible before swallowing it.

Do this three times daily. Coconut has powerful antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which subdue the pain and heal the ulcers quickly.

Coriander Leaves

Wash some coriander leaves and chop them finely. Chew two teaspoons of the chopped leaves slowly, allowing the juice to wash over the ulcers several times before swallowing it.

The potent medicinal properties of coriander leaves will effect quick healing. The leaves will also remove the deficiency of iron, vitamin C and folic acid.
