5 Ways To Get Rid Of Split Ends Naturally

Split ends in hair are a common problem that can occur in long or short hair and it can affect any type of hair, oily, dry or normal hair. The ends mostly split due to dryness, over exposure in the sun, frequent use of intensive hair products like hair spray, hair gel or hair colours.

Lack of proper diet also tends to cause dryness in hair, which results in split ends.

Tips To Get Rid of Split Ends

Head Massage

Head massage is very important part of hair nourishment. It stimulates blood circulation in the scalp and it gives strength and shine to the hair. To get rid of split ends, massage your hair by combining almond oil, olive oil and coconut oil in equal proportions.

Heat the oil and massage it in your scalp with the help of your finger tips. Wrap a moist towel around your head for 20 minutes. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo.

Using The Right Hair Products

The condition and texture of your hair much depends on the type of hair products you use. Always use a mild or herbal shampoo to wash your hair. Trifla shampoo that is made with Ritha powder, amla powder and shikakai powder is an effective remedy for split ends.

It nourishes as well as conditions the hair, thus it helps you to get rid of split ends. After shampoo use hair conditioner, according to your hair type, to prevent the hair from dryness.

Proper Way Of Brushing And Drying Hair

Avoid using metal combs in hair as they cause friction and make the ends split. Use wide toothed wooden or plastic combs to untangle your hair. Always start from the ends and move upwards while removing tangles from the hair. This will prevent unwanted breakage and split ends in hair.

After taking a head bath, brush your hair when they are semi dry to prevent split ends. Wet hair tends to break easily or the ends may split. Avoid using hair dryer frquently to get rid of split ends. Get your hair trimmed after every six months to get rid of split ends. Regular trimming improves hair growth and it also prevents split ends.

Homemade Hair Packs

Use a hair pack to nourish your hair at least once in a fortnight. You can easily make a hair pack at home with various ingredients. These are natural products, free of chemicals.

Take one full ripe banana, mash it well. Add 2 table spoon curds, a few drops of lemon and a few drops of rose water to it. Apply the paste to your hair starting from the scalp to the ends of hair. Leave it on for 1 hour and wash hair with a mild shampoo.

Beat one egg; add ½ cup milk and one table spoon honey to it. Apply the paste as mentioned above. Leave it on for 20 minutes and wash with normal water. Use a mild shampoo if needed.

Tips

Do not use hot water to wash off egg hair pack. The egg will get cooked.

You can increase or decrease the quantity of ingredients in hair packs, according to the length of your hair.
