Share

Eczema is a chronic form of skin condition which can result in dry and irritated, red skin lesions with an itchy skin. The cause behind this condition is lack of the skin’s ability to retain the moisture. This can occur even if there is repeated washing of the area with soap or detergents without moisturizing it. It is commonly seen in the childhood and may also aggravate with time. The over the counter creams are usually heavy dosed and often makes the skin very sensitive. Try this home made cream recipe with in-house ingredients and notice the results with regular use.

Tips To Make Homemade Eczema Cream

Ingredients For The Home Made Recipe

1/2 cup Shea butter 1/2 cup coconut oil 30 drops of lavender essential oil 10 drops of tea tree essential oil.

Mechanism Of Action Of The Ingredients

Shea butter is a fat which contains high amounts of Vitamin A which helps in moisturizing the skin. It also relieves a large number of skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, etc. Remember that you use 100% pure Shea butter. Coconut oil is a source of triglycerides, which moisturizes the skin and its protective action keeps the pathogenic microorganisms away from the skin. Lavender oil has soothing effects on the skin.Tea tree oil manages the secondary infections which can occur after eczema.

How To Prepare The Cream

Warm all the oils, a little, so that they get into a liquid state and add the mentioned ingredients such as shea butter, coconut oil, lavender oil and tea tree oil in a bowl. Ensure to add all the ingredients in the above mentioned quantity. Stir the ingredients well. Transfer the prepared mixture to a container. If the room temperature is too high to turn the cream into a “melty” consistency, then store the container in a refrigerator. The final cream will resemble a soft, creamy lotion or something like a whipped butter.

Method Of Application And Points To Remember

Try to apply the cream on the normal part of the skin first for some time, so as to ensure that your skin does not produce any allergic response against the ingredients. If the response is fine, then you can use the cream regularly 2-3 times, until the symptoms subside.
