Apply ice directly on the area affected by canker sores. You can slowly melt the ice or use an ice cube on the affected area for immediate relief. Salt- Take some salt (1 teaspoon), baking soda (1 teaspoon) and hydrogen peroxide (2 ounces), mix them well and wash your mouth with this solution 3-4 times every day.
You can also wash your mouth with salt water (lukewarm) and even apply salt directly on the sores.
Cereals, chips, nuts, sharp and crunchy foods cause scratching of the interior of the mouth and thus cause canker sores, so you should avoid these foods and also avoid acidic foods like coffee, vinegar, citrus fruits (orange, grapefruit , pineapple) tobacco, spicy and salty foods.
