Valerian roots are used to treat anxiety. They are safe, non-addictive and promote peaceful sleep. They give relief from sleep disturbances, which could cause mild anxiety. They aid in falling asleep very fast. They can treat symptoms associated with anxiety like stress. They help in calming and relaxing the central nervous system.
It has tranquilizing and sedative effects. The roots can be taken in the form of herbal tea and must be taken thrice a day including before bedtime to cure anxiety. It can be combined with herbs like chamomile and lemon balm.
