Long lasting anxiety can have several negative impacts upon the health and can lead to high blood pressure, headaches and unnecessary fear and nervousness. Anxiety can also cause heart palpitations, muscle tension, profuse sweating, dry mouth, jittery feeling in the stomach, sense of impending doom and quivering nerves. Prolonged anxiety induces the secretion of certain chemicals which can damage the body’s organs and affect the proper functioning of the brain and the nervous system.

Ways To Treat Anxiety Naturally

Tulsi Or Holy Basil

Tulsi has been used since time unknown for healing the body and the mind. It has a multitude of medicinal values and has a huge reserve of adaptogenic and immune enhancing properties and is considered to be a tonic for the nerves. It purifies the blood and protects against stress.

Boil a cup of water and add four or five tulsi leaves to it. Continue boiling on a low heat for a few seconds then turn off the heat. Strain the tea after ten minutes and drink three to four cups of it daily.

Celery And Onions

Chop one onion and a few stalks of celery and mix them together. Sprinkle some salt and pepper and eat this mixture once daily. Celery as well as onion are rich in powerful antioxidants and contain large amounts of potassium and folic acid which aid the function of the nervous system and remove nervousness. They also detoxify the body and keep all its functions in prime order.

Orange Peel

Oranges have a fantastic aroma and contain a wealth of nutrients. All you have to do is to peel an orange and hold the peel to your nostrils and inhale its aroma deeply to calm your fear and anxiety instantly. Keep inhaling frequently to keep your mind calm and composed.

You can also boil some water and add some orange peel to it. Continue boiling on a low heat for a few minutes till the peel releases its fragrance and oil into the water. Cool the water and rub it on your temples and forehead as frequently as you want.

Coconut Oil

Warm some coconut oil and massage your entire body with it for ten to fifteen minutes. Rub your scalp and also your bottoms of the feet with it. Use the massage before your morning bath to keep your mind and body relaxed throughout the day.

Almonds

Almonds strengthen the mind as well as the body and enhance the function of the brain and the nervous system. Soak ten to twelve almonds overnight. In the morning peel them and grind them to a fine paste. Mix the paste with a glass of hot milk and consume this tonic every morning.
