How To Treat Body Acne

Share

Besides the face, acne can also appear on the chest, back, arms and bottoms. Body acne is similar to facial acne. The symptoms as well as the treatment are the same for both the acnes. People who have acne on the face also tend to develop acne on the body. Acne can form anywhere on the body. When the pores of the skin become clogged with dirt, grime, dead skin and oil, small bumps known as acne appear on the skin.

Debarring the palms and the soles of the feet, the blemishes can form anywhere on the body but they generally appear on the chest, arms, neck and back. The pimples turn red and become inflamed. They can also become irritated and cause itching.  They may appear singly or in a group as a rash.  It is more difficult to control body acne as it comprises a wider area and the skin in these areas is thicker and has larger pores. Also these areas are always covered with clothing and this means that the acne is always in contact with the oil which the skin produces.

Best Ways To Treat Body Acne

Keep Your Skin Clean

Keeping your skin clean is a good way of preventing and getting rid of body acne. Shower daily to wash away the perspiration, dirt and grime. Perspiration promotes a breeding ground for bacteria which together with oil and dead skin cells clog the pores. Use a soft sponge and a mild soap to cleanse your skin properly.

Scrub every part of your body even the hard to reach areas like the back and gently exfoliate your skin. Keeping scrupulously clean will keep you clear of body acne.

Besan And Curd

Besan has been used since time immemorial for its deep cleansing and exfoliating properties. It also cures all sorts of skin disorders and is especially very good for getting rid of acne. Take three teaspoons of besan and mix curd with it to form a paste.

Also add a good pinch of turmeric powder to it. Apply the paste all over your body and let it dry. Rub it off your body and bathe with warm water. Besan will remove all the dirt, oil, bacteria and dead skin and will quickly heal the acne.

Lemon Juice

After your shower, dry your body well. Take the juice of one lemon and dab it all over the acne with a cotton ball. The citric acid found in lemon juice will clear away the hardened sebum and the dirt settled deep within the pores and will unclog them. You can dab lemon juice three or four times daily so that the pores stay free of dirt and oil.

Tea Tree Oil

Take a drop of tea tree oil onto your clean index finger and dab it over the acne. Apply tea tree oil in this manner on all the blemishes. Tea tree oil has marvelous antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.

When applied to the skin, it produces bacteria fighting cells which help in getting rid of the acne. Apply the oil two or three times daily preferably after a shower.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is touted as a magical plant full of powerful healing and curative powers all over the world. Take a fresh aloe vera leaf and after slicing away the thorny edges, slit it in the middle.

Rub the gel side all over your body acne. Keep for half an hour then take a shower. Aloe vera has great antifungal and antibacterial properties which heal the acne rapidly.
