Sometimes a person loses consciousness immediately after the injury and may not regain consciousness for quite sometime. Ways To Treat Concussion

Cold Compress

Fill an ice bag with some ice cubes and apply it to the head. Keep rotating the bag on the head if there is no bump on the head and you do not know where the exact location of the injury is.

Apply the ice for ten to fifteen minutes to lessen the inflammation. Ice will also numb the pain and prevent it from becoming severe and intense. If you do not have an ice bag, you can apply a bag of frozen peas or vegetables to the head.

Mustard And Salt

Mix equal amounts of mustard, salt, pepper and vinegar. Consume this mixture with a glass of water. Mustard and pepper are full of anti-inflammatory properties which will reduce the swelling instantly and provide relief in the pain. Mustard will also prevent nausea and dizziness by stimulating and increasing the blood circulation.

Honey And Lemon

Honey has tremendous soothing and calming effects while lemon being rich in vitamin C has natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Take one teaspoon of honey and mix it with one teaspoon of lemon juice.

Lick the mixture slowly with your finger. Lemon will help to heal the wound faster and the potassium found in it will calm the injured brain and the nerve cells and prevent any dysfunction.

Cinnamon

Boil one cup of water and add a pounded stick of cinnamon to it. Continue boiling on a low heat for a few seconds then turn off the heat. After ten minutes strain the tea, stir in one teaspoon of honey and sip it slowly. This tea will not only relieve the nausea and dizziness but it will also arrest any damage to the nerves and brain cells.

Mint

Boil a cup of water and add a few fresh leaves of mint to it. Steep the leaves for about ten minutes then sip the tea slowly. You can chew the mint leaves after drinking the tea to gain the maximum benefits of the medicinal properties of mint. Mint will quickly arrest any inflammation and will relieve the pain and headache.
