How To Treat Fibroids

Share

Uterine fibroids are tissue growth seen inside the uterus. These are noncancerous and they appear during the years of childbearing and do not cause uterine cancer. They are just smooth tissue development in the uterus. They start from single cell and eventually become a rubbery mass of tissues.

The fibroid growth may be rapid or slow or they might even remain in the same size without increase in size. They may be single or multiple. The causes may be genetic factors, hormones or others. The symptoms may be prolonged pain and menstrual bleeding, leg pain or back pain, frequent urination, heavy bleeding and constipation. Fibroids can be diagnosed by ultrasound scan. There are many treatments to prevent and cure this condition easily.

How To Treat Fibroids

Diet

Eating a diet rich in nutrients that promotes fertility is beneficial for treating fibroids. Fiber rich foods are best to reduce excess estrogen found in the body.  Greens, broccoli, beans, whole grains, flaxseeds, chia seeds and Swiss chard are good sources of fiber. Garlic and beet can detoxify the body.

Green tea can counteract estrogen effects. Rosemary and pineapple have anti-inflammatory properties. Take more of organic food to reduce fibroids. Avoid sugar, alcohol, caffeine, junk food and saturated fat, which contribute to estrogen production in the body. They are regarded as anti-nutrients and need to be avoided as they promote fertility in a negative way.

Avoid Environmental Toxins

Estrogen is the main cause for the formation of fibroids in the uterus. Many things that we eat nowadays contain compounds that can increase and produce estrogen in women. Xenoestrogens stimulate the production of estrogens. They are endocrine receptors. Xenoestrogens bind to the sites of estrogen receptors, which can be a cause of concern for women having fibroids because fibroids are hypersensitive to this hormone.

Xenoestrogens are found in chemicals and industrial products. For example, paraben found in soap6 and creams is an example of xenoestrogen. Any compound that ends with paraben such as propylparaben, etc must be avoided.  Another compound called phytoestrogen is responsible for estrogen dominance in the body, which is also related to the environmental factors. Phytoestrogens are found in animals and plants and they substitute estrogen in the body so they should also be avoided. They are found in soy products and coffee.

Castor Oil Pack

Castor oil has anti-inflammatory properties and reduces the size of the fibroids. It is a traditional therapy, which cleans and heals the condition in the body. It clears the excess tissues as well as flushes the toxins from the body. It stimulates the circulatory and lymphatic system.

Enhancing the circulatory system improves the oxygenated supply to the uterus and it improves the nutrient supply to the uterus, which will dissolve the fibroids. The lymphatic system flushes the toxins from the body when castor oil pack is placed. The process includes placing a bottle of castor oil using a heating pad and washcloths.

Cleansing The Kidney And Liver

A healthy uterus can be obtained by cleansing the kidneys and liver. They are vital for human health and are essential for survival. They are also responsible for eliminating waste and toxins from the body. Stimulating the functions of liver and kidney improves the estrogen metabolism and thus helps in reducing fibroid size. Detoxification can be done using lemon or apple cider vinegar. Drink a lot of water for detoxification.

Surgical Procedure

Hysterectomy is the permanent solution for fibroids. This procedure involves removal of uterus by surgery. It is advised to undergo hysterectomy when you have large sized fibroids or increased bleeding and only when you wish to have no more children.

Nowadays, there are different ways to perform the surgery. It can be done either through vagina or by making a number of incisions in the abdomen. You will have to stay in the hospital for several days after the surgery and it will take at least 6 weeks for recovery.
