5 Ways To Treat Puffy Eyes

Puffy eyes are one of the common eye problems among all age groups that make one look exhausted and ill due to puffiness of eyes. Puffy eyes may occur due to physical stress, lack of sleep, excessive crying, hangovers, unhealthy diet, eye allergy, eyelid surgery and weather changes as well. These are some most common responsible reasons for puffy eyes.

Usually, people become tensed when they face puffiness of eyes and start trying number of treatments to get rid of puffy eyes. Well, it can be cured easily with the help of natural products that just require little extra care. Here are listed some easy ways that can help you in treating puffy eyes naturally. Read on to find out combination of suitable options for yourself and treat your puffy eyes easily.

Chilled Tea Bags

Tea bags can help you in getting rid of puffy eyes as tea contains tannins and caffeine that are helpful in curing puffiness of eyes naturally. Tannins work as astringent and shrink swollen tissues effectively. On the other hand, caffeine is helpful in constricting blood vessels and reducing swelling or puffiness of eyes significantly.

Take two tea bags of black, green or chamomile tea (whichever is available) and steep them in boiled water for 3-5 minutes. Then place tea bags into the refrigerator and let them cool properly. Then put chilled tea bags onto your eyes. Relax for 15-20 minutes and then remove it. Wash your eyes and face with cool water and pat dry gently.

Cold Milk

Cold milk is another simple and easy way to treat puffy eyes. It reduces puffiness constricting blood vessels, moisturizes skin and soothes eyes reducing irritation.

Take some cold milk in a bowl and soak two cotton pads in it for 2 minutes. Then squeeze the pads slightly to remove extra milk. Close your eyes and put these cotton pads onto your eyes. Change the pads when they get warm. Repeat same procedure for 15 minutes.

Cool Cucumber Slices

Cucumber is rich in anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory, astringent, soothing and refreshing properties. It contains ascorbic acid and caffeic acid that help in soothing irritated eyes and provide relief reducing puffiness of eyes.

Take one refrigerated cucumber and cut it into round slices. Put cool cucumber slices on your eyes and leave for 15 minutes. Repeat this procedure several times a day for quick relief from puffy eyes.

Sweet Strawberry

Strawberries contain high content of vitamin C as well as contain manganese, folate, potassium and alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that help in reducing puffiness of eyes. It makes skin soft and smooth providing extreme relief from swelling.

Take some cool strawberries and cut them into slices. Then lie down, close your eyes and put cool strawberry slices onto your eyes for 15 minutes. It will soothe your eyes and heal puffiness effectively. Repeat it thrice a day till proper relief.

Egg Whites

Egg white helps in skin tightening and rejuvenating due to presence of vitamin B2 and astringent properties that heal puffy eyes significantly. It tightens skin and reduces swelling as well.

Break two eggs and separate egg white from yolk. Whip egg white stiffly and make smooth paste. Apply it over the affected area with the help of soft brush. Leave it to dry and then wash it off with cold water.
