Bad breath can cause great discomfort. As soon as you open your mouth a puff of bad odor is released. The foul or unpleasant smell emanating from your mouth can make people shy away from you, causing great embarrassment. Bad breath can be caused by poor hygiene.

The bacteria in the mouth decompose the food nuggets left sticking on the gums and the back of the tongue resulting in a bad odor. If your bowel movement is irregular or not thorough it can cause bad breath. Too much garlic can be another reason. The smell comes from the gums and teeth, so it is important to take good care of them. These simple and harmless cures will most certainly eliminate the problem.

Tips To Cure Bad Breath

Do Not Keep Your Mouth Dry

Do not let long intervals elapse without eating or drinking. Keep your mouth hydrated from time to time either by drinking water or sipping juices. Pop something into your mouth to munch and to generate saliva thus preventing the bacteria from feeding on the dead cells sticking to the gums and cheeks and from producing malodour.

Keep Your Tongue Clean

The tongue, especially the rear part is an excellent breeding ground for bacteria if food particles are left on the surface. The bacteria present in the mouth putrefy this food discharging offensive odors.

Scrape the tongue daily morning and night to remove the fuzzy coating on it. You can do it with your brush or a tongue cleaner. Some brushes have a spiked surface on the back for cleaning the tongue and cheeks.

Keep The Mouth Sweet Smelling With Cardamom

Cardamom is a very common spice. Its chemical compounds are antioxidant, antiseptic and prevent diseases. Always keep a few pods handy in your pocket or purse. Pop a pod with the skin into your mouth. Crush it very gently with your teeth to release the aromatic essential oils slowly.

Keep sucking slowly, turning it from one cheek to the other. Make it last, at least for an hour before swallowing the whole. With your tongue rub the fibres of the skin on the gum line to remove plaque.

Aniseed

Aniseed is very aromatic has a number of essential oils and helps digestion. It has a sweet rich taste. It is popularly eaten as a mouth refresher, in its natural form or coated with sugar. Chew a level teaspoon of natural bareek saunf after lunch and dinner every day to keep your mouth fresh and free from odors.
