Natural Cure For Bursitis

Bursitis cureBursae are small fluid filled sacs which absorb pressure and lubricate the points between the bones tendons and muscles near the joints in our body. These sacs are lined with synovial cells that secrete synovial fluid which acts as a lubricant. This cushioning and lubrication allows our joints to move freely with ease and without any friction.

When a person suffers from bursitis, these bursae become inflamed and rough and movement becomes very painful due to increased pressure on the joint. Infection from gout or rheumatoid arthritis, injury, overuse and repetition of movement and pressure are some of the causes of bursitis. It usually occurs in the ankles, hips, shoulders, knees, elbows and thighs. Fever is accompanied by pain and swelling and movement becomes a torture. Sometimes the affected area becomes red and feels hot to the touch.

Tips To Cure Bursitis Naturally

Hot And Cold Compresses

Fill an ice bag with plenty of ice cubes and apply it directly to the affected area. Keep it for twenty minutes and repeat the process three times daily for three days. Afterwards, apply hot and cold compresses alternately. For a hot compress, heat some water in a pan and dip a clean cotton cloth into it. Wring out the excess water, fold the cloth several times and apply it on the joint. When it loses heat, dip again in the hot water and apply. Regular use of these compresses will reduce the swelling and the pain will diminish.

Fish Oil

Cure bursitis

Fish oil is extremely rich in omega 3 fatty acids which reduce inflammation and maintain tissue health by making them strong and resilient. Omega 3 fatty acids help the cells that line the bursae to regenerate and strengthen and stay healthy. Take one teaspoon of fish oil twice daily. Regular intake will remove the stiffness and pain from the joint and will facilitate movement by making it smooth and easy.

Orange Juice

Orange juice is rich in vitamin C which is an excellent antioxidant and repairs damaged tissues and cells and prevents their further deterioration. Insufficient amounts of vitamin C can weaken the bursae and make them more prone to swelling and infection. Drink at least two glasses of fresh orange juice daily.

Tomatoes

Bursitis cure

Tomatoes are a very good source of vitamin E which is an excellent antioxidant and destroys all the free radicals in our body. The free radicals are toxins which damage the cells that line the bursae and hamper the secretion of synovial fluid which acts as a lubricant and absorbs the pressure in the joint. Drink fresh tomato juice two or three times daily to increase the level of vitamin E in the body.

Stretching Exercise

It is essential to stretch the affected joint and maintain its mobility. Stretch slowly and gently, backwards and forwards to incur as little pain as possible and gradually increase the range of stretching. Exercise stimulates the blood circulation and increases the blood flow to the joint. The healing process is accelerated and also the recurrence of bursitis is eliminated. Do the stretching exercise for ten to fifteen minutes every morning and every evening.
