5 Natural Cure For Eczema On Hands

Share

Eczema on the hands is a common condition and is known as hand dermatitis. It is an inflammatory condition which though not contagious, affects your work, social relationships and detracts from your self esteem.A number of factors including your genetic make-up cause eczema. It generally affects people who have jobs involving cleaning, hairdressing, catering and mechanical work. Allergies and exposure to harmful chemicals can also cause hand eczema.

The skin on the hands becomes dry and red and there is peeling and flaking. Intense itching and pain cause cracks and small blisters on the backs of the hands, in between the fingers and palms and there is burning and scratching. Prescription ointments and topical drugs tend to thin the skin and cause more harm than do good. Simple natural cures are the best treatment for this condition.

5 Tips To Cure Eczema On Hands Naturally

Pure Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe vera has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties which eradicate eczema most quickly and effectively. Remove the gel from a fresh and juicy aloe vera leaf and rub it all over the fingers, palms and the back of the hands for ten minutes. Its soothing and cooling effect will soon alleviate the itching and the burning sensation will disappear. Apply two or three times daily till your hands are perfectly healed.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has been used in traditional medicine since centuries for its healing and curative properties. Coconut oil abounds in antibacterial and antifungal properties which effect quick healing. Massage your hands gently with pure coconut oil for ten to fifteen minutes three or four times daily. The oil will keep the skin well moisturized and when it permeates the skin it will repair and heal the damaged tissues and cells.

Raw Milk Compress

Take some cold chilled raw milk in a bowl. Dip a thin clean cotton cloth into it. Squeeze out the excess milk, fold the cloth several times and wrap it around your hands. Keep it in place till it becomes warm then re-wet it and apply again. Repeat this procedure for twenty minutes, three times daily. Raw milk contains immunoglobulins which soothe the irritated skin and heal the blisters and sores. Milk provides immediate relief from itching and stops the skin from flaking and peeling.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal which is usually served for breakfast and is considered as a wholesome food contains valuable medicinal properties which are of great importance in curing a number of diseases and ailments. It is especially beneficial in treating all types of skin disorders. The starch found in oatmeal heals the rashes and provides relief in the burning and itching.

It stops the blisters from oozing and helps them to subside quickly. Grind some oatmeal to a fine powder and make a thick paste by combining it with water. Apply the paste on the back of the hands, palms and in between the fingers. Let it dry on the skin. When the dried paste flakes off, it will leave your hands cool and soothed.

Olive Oil

Olive possesses antibacterial and anti-irritant properties. Regular application of virgin olive oil will keep your hands soothed and well moisturized. The peeling of the skin will soon stop and healing will take place.

  • I have this and it is upsetting, i am a mother of four and it hurts a lot just to wash dishes, and being a mom i have to wash a bunch through out the day.. I will try the aloe vera! seems promising! wish me luck.

    • You should always use rubber gloves when washing dishes. I have found real improvement on my red pealing hands by using Aveeno Baby diaper rash cream. It contains zinc oxide which forms a moisture barrier as well as oatmeal and primrose oil which are both effective for eczema. It is very thick so you have to rub it in well.

  • I have eczema on my hands which really flares up badly in cold weather. I have tried everything from prescription salves to anything over the counter. Dermalmd Rosacea Serum makes my hands feel exceptionally good. It has helped clear up most of the eczema. I am convinced I will never be rid of all of it. I highly recommend trying Dermalmd Serum if you have problem hands as I do.

  • I suffer from really bad eczema on my one finger. It itches so much that if I wasn't stopped, I could scratch through to the bone. I decided to try foderma serum and thank goodness I did. It soothes the itching and also helps with the healing. My eczema has subsided but if I feel an itch, I apply this right away and it's like the itch never happened
