Share

Gases are produced in the stomach and intestines during the process of digesting food. The food that we eat is broken down and the nutrients are absorbed and converted into energy. Everyone passes normal amounts of gas but if there is excessive gas formation due to indigestion or gas producing foods then there is flatus.

Flatulence can be a very distressing and embarrassing problem and can cause a lot of social damage. If the food is not digested properly, it passes from the small intestine to the large intestine where the bad bacteria putrefy it and give rise to malodorous gases which are emitted through the anus. Abdominal cramps, nausea, heaviness in the stomach, loss of appetite, acidity and belching are some of the symptoms of flatulence. Simple ingredients that are always to be found in the home are best remedies for this problem.
