Nasal polyps develop on the lining of the nose or sinuses. They are benign soft growths that consist of swollen mucosa and grow either singly or in clusters. When the mucous membranes in the nose or sinuses get inflamed, fluid builds up in their cells and over a period of time they develop into nasal polyps. These polyps grow around the edges of the nose and sinuses. When they are small, they do not cause any problem but if they become inflamed due to bacterial and viral infections, fungus, sinusitis and chronic inflammation, they block the nasal airways which give rise to difficulty in breathing, snoring, headaches, runny nose, nasal stuffiness, profuse nasal drainage, loss of sense of smell, facial discomfort and mouth breathing.
The excess mucous instead of coming out through the nose drips down the back of the throat and as the polyps grow large in size they may change the shape of the. Nasal sprays and steroids may help for a little while but afterwards they stop being effective and their harmful effects cause untold damage.

Great post! Well at least now people know that sinus surgery is not the only answer to getting your nasal polyps sorted out. Tea Tree oil is a definite essential even if you do not have any nasal polyps but are experiencing nasal problems.
Excelent!!! I learned a lot from this page. Thank you very much
Thank you for posting this great information. I had the surgery done a year ago and I am looking for all the ways to maintain any reoccurrence of nasal polyps. I love to cook and garlic has always been a favorite staple in my diet. I'm glad to see it made the list.
My son who is 9 is having difficulty breathing at night. I will try the tea tree oil and incorporate more Oranges, tumeric and garlic into his diet.
I'll let you know how it works out for him.
Thanks again.

Its digestive issues. Take probiotics and digestive enzymes. Stay away from grains, dairy and lots of processed foods.
I had them removed surgically , and I was told they'd return , and that it could be 1 year , or 10 years , but that they would definitely come back. It turns out that as soon as I got a cold , they came back a year later. Definitely good to have options since surgery seems like a complete waste of time. Thanks for doing all the research. I'll try these one by one until I find something that works.
did any of them work?
My dear admin plz explain me how to use ? am waiting ur reply
I had a chest infection and was prescribed Prednisolone. It had the added bonus of shrinking the polyps. I've now been polyp free for about 9 months. Even the doctor who prescribed it was shocked. It worked.
you take it everyday ?
no. it was a 1 or 2 week course just to get rid of the chest infection. The doctor didnt know they would shrink the polyps but they were anti-inflammatorys, so they eased the inflamed polyps too.
They came back a little bit but the doc prescribe a nasal spray called avamys and ive been polyp free for about 2 years now.
Thanks for sharing such information. I got removed polyps 6 years ago and that time doctor told me "it will grow again now or later anytime in 10 years . grew in 3rd year and start irritating in 5th year. I use xzynosine to open airway temporarily . I'll use these method . Thanks for sharing :)
THANK -YOU IM SO Glad someone said it. Dairy is a BIG no, no
I almost got rid of mine. WHat REALLY helped recently are good probiotics, but most of all digestive enzymes. Polyps are a problem with digestion and particles of food get in your blood system. When I started taking digestive enzymes my asthma and polyps are almost gone!
I've seen you claim polyps are caused by three different things in this page's comments alone. I don't think you know what you are talking about.
You must be dumb enough to think there is just one cause for all of this? If I dont know what I am talking about why has my allergist asked what I have done to help my asthma, allergies and nasal polyps. I found out what worked after testing stuff for years. So yes little Eddie....I do know what I am talking about. My polyps are pretty much gone!
I not little, I is big.
No one calls me Eddie but my siblings.
I guess your allergist doesn't know what he is talking about either.
:)
They just have 7 or 8 offices all around chicago, thats all. And I seem to be one of the only ones on here that actually took care of my asthma, allergies and nasal polyps. For years I was on and off prednisone, steriod inhalers for my asthma and nasal polyps, singulair, zertec and benadryl. The only thing I take now is 1/2 a singulair a day. So evidently all the research I did paid off. I dont have any polyps to this day.
I totally agree with you, is a digestive thing. Once you start talking about this, they think you´re crazy. It will take some time for the rest to discover the truth.
I´m a big nasal polyps sufferer. I went to a surgery 4 times, and i will no take any steroid again. Now lloking for some natural way to heal. All the best for you. Blessings
100% without a doubt its a digestive problem. What you will have to do is experiment with dairy, nuts and anything made with grains (corn, wheat, oats, etc.) The main problem is leaky gut....which the doctors tend to ignore and say there is no such thing. The problem with milk in most area is that its pasteurized. Once they pasteurize it they kill all the digestive enzymes. Hence the digestive problem. Then all the hard to digest particles go into the system and cause inflammation. 90% of grains grown now are GMO. The body has a hard time reacting to something that isnt 100% natural. And other things that contribute to leaky gut are pesticides, antibiotics and steroids. The more you take the more it ruins your gut. Start healing your gut by taking good quality probiotics and eating raw fruits and vegetables. Stay active too! Also take digestive enzymes. Once you start realizing what helps them then the polyps will start to shrink. Best of luck!
prednisalone and a nasal spray called avamys killed my polyps stone dead and mine were almost hanging out my nostrils. I havent had polyps for 2 years now, and i dont take digestive enzymes and do have asthma.
My wife just had her Polyps removed by surgery but it has not been of much help, she also suffers from asthma. My 16 yr old son has the same problem and I most definitely do not want him to undergo surgery. You mentioned digestive enzymes, please can you be more specific. Medicine in my country Malaysia is very outdated so I'm doing my best as a husband and father to outsource for whatever medication that will help. Thank you and God Bless - Clinton
Sorry forgot to add that you can contact me through Facebook or through email : clinton.xander.labrooy@gmail.com Would certainly be most grateful for any help you can offer as you have been through it yourself. Once again thank you and God Bless - Clinton.
What nonsense all this vegan hysteria is about dairy. Unless you have an ALLERGY to dairy products, which is not uncommon actually, you will not experience any adverse effects from it. Dairy doesn't produce mucous, that is a myth. There is also zero evidence (as in science, which I'm guessing wasn't your best subject) that milk is "an inflammatory".
I prefer almond milk. I don't want to drink antibiotics and pus from the cow. Cow milk is for baby cows
its got nothing whatsoever to do with dairy. I had polyps so bad they were almost hanging out my nostrils. Its to do with an infection that causes inflammation. Mine went away because i was prescribed a course of prednisalone anti inflammetories for a chest infection but they also shrunk the polyps too. I was then prescribed a nasal spray called avamys which seems to have killed them completely as i havent had polyps for 2 years now, and mine were really bad.
I had my first surgery 7 months ago, I went back to the ENT and they are growing back. I still have all my senses. Before I tried many things and the one thing that gain my smell is tea tree oil. I am now starting that again. I use nettipot with distilled water and salt and drops of tea tree oil. You can also try grape seed oil. Apple cider vinegar is great too (many benefits) Biggest thing is what we eat. So stay away from diary, wheat. nuts. Its been hard for me with the ice-cream! you will find many methods out there- what we need to do is watch what goes in our mouth. mucus forming foods! its a fungus
