5 Natural Cures To OCD

OCD is known as obsessive compulsion disorder. It is a psychological condition in which the person is troubled by compulsive thoughts.  When a certain thought keeps plaguing your brain so consistently that it becomes an obsession it is known as OCD.

The brain gets riveted on one particular thought and you are compelled to perform that task repeatedly. Rank confusion prevails with uncertainties whether you have accomplished that task or not.

For example, you will check a hundred times to make sure you have turned off the gas, or locked your cupboard or any other such simple task. Awareness, that your behavior is unnatural and irrational is there yet you are unable to break free from it. You tend to live in a confused state unable to concentrate on other tasks and jobs. Normal life gets disrupted because of your inability to control your compulsions.

People suffering from OCD can become obsessed with cleanliness; where the urge to wash or clean the hands again and again becomes a compulsion. They can become obsessed with checking; where they check things repeatedly or hoarding; where they feel a reluctance to dispose of anything, thinking some calamity might befall them.

Tips To Cure OCD Naturally

Almonds

Almonds are a spring that pours forth innumerable nutrients for the health of the body and mind. They are full of minerals like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and zinc. They abound in omega 3 fatty acids, essential oils, protein and vitamins C and E. Their  antioxidant properties prevent degenerative diseases.

Almonds nourish the brain and maintain the health of the nervous system. They enhance the memory and boost concentration powers. Soak fifteen almonds in the night. In the morning blanche them and grind to a fine paste. Heat two teaspoons of pure ghee and roast the paste in it for five minutes. Add some sugar and eat everyday. After a few days your confusion will disperse bringing clarity to your thoughts.

Poppy Seeds

Poppy seeds are intrinsic coolers and have the ability to calm and soothe the brain and improve its functions. They relax the mind, relieve depression and enhance the thought processes.

They nourish the mind as well as the body by promoting sound sleep. They are high in proteins and calcium which are necessary for generating and maintaining new tissues. Soak three teaspoons of poppy seeds overnight. In the morning grind them to a fine paste and eat. Continuous use will dispel the fears and improve your day to day life.

Meditation

Meditation alleviates stress, detoxifies the body and strengthens the nerve impulses. When the mind and body are stressed, certain chemicals are produced which diminish the flow of oxygen to the brain causing depression, fatigue, irritability and decreased concentration. Meditate every morning for ten to fifteen minutes before sunrise.

Gotu Kola

Gotu kola has many healing and curing qualities. It acts as a tonic and enhances the functions of the brain and the circulatory system. Eat a few leaves of gotu kola everyday.

Walnuts

Walnuts are rich in essential fatty acids that negate the imbalance in the brain. They are high in magnesium and calcium which relax the muscles of the brain and improve its functions. Eat some walnuts, first thing in the morning.
