Periodontal disease is an infection of the gums where the gums become tender, sore and inflamed and start bleeding. In the initial stages this condition is known as gingivitis but if it becomes serious it turns into periodontitis.The bacteria which are ever present in our mouths attack the soft tissues of the gums that support the teeth and if not treated timely it can result in loss of teeth.
The formation of plaque, a sticky colorless film is constant on our teeth and if it is not banished by brushing and flossing it can harden into tarter which causes untold damage to the teeth and gums.Periodontal disease leads to swollen and bleeding gums, foul breath, tooth sensitivity and decay and difficulty in chewing. It is curable by simple home remedies which will eradicate the diseases by the root keeping your teeth safe and healthy.
The neem tree is found in every city, town and village and has innumerable disease fighting properties. People in the villages who are unaware of modern day oral care and hygiene regularly use neem to brush their teeth and never suffer from mouth disorders. Neem has antibacterial and antiviral properties which kill all the microbes present in the mouth.
Take some dry neem leaves and grind them into a fine powder. Take one teaspoon of this powder in the palm of your hand. Add a few drops of mustard oil to it. With your clean finger apply the paste to the tender gums and gently massage them, three times a day. Rinse off with warm water. Use consistently and you will be cured.
Amla is endowed with antiviral, antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. It contains large quantities of vitamin C which is essential for healing.
Rinse your mouth with fresh amla juice every morning and before going to bed. In addition to this take one teaspoon of dried amla powder and swallow it with water every morning on an empty stomach. Within days the redness and swelling will reduce and your gums will start healing.
Aloe vera is a bountiful plant. Its antibacterial, antifungal and healing properties are very much coveted in healing and treating innumerable diseases and disorders. Peel a juicy leaf of aloe vera and remove the gel. Rub the gel gently on the gums. Keep massaging with the gel, three times a day until the swelling is reduced and the gums stop bleeding. Afterwards you can massage twice a day. Consistent use will heal the gums thoroughly.
Rock salt is enriched with minerals that have many health giving benefits. Alum is known for its antibacterial properties. Grind some rock salt and alum to a fine powder. Take equal quantities and mix them and store in a jar. Take one teaspoon of this mixture and stir it in a glass of hot water. Rinse your mouth thoroughly three times a day. The infection will disappear after a few days.
Black tea inhibits the spread of bacteria and relieves soreness and swelling. It also prevents the plaque from settling on the teeth and gum line. Rinse your mouth with black tea three or four times daily and also drink black tea everyday.
