Natural Cure For PMS

PMS is known as premenstrual syndrome. Most women experience premenstrual symptoms in their lifetime. Premenstrual symptoms are occasional, mild and do not cause much distress or interfere with day to day life. But severe and regularly occurring symptoms which cause much discomfort and disrupt normal life are called premenstrual syndrome.

PMS is the occurrence of aches and pains, depression, mood swings and general ill health, several days before and after the menstrual period, on a regular basis every month. This problem occurs due to some hormonal changes in the body because of which the person experiences stomach cramping, pain in the back and legs and emotional imbalances like; unusual stress, irrational anger, anxiety and lethargy.

It can sometimes persist throughout the month and drastically reduce the concentration and work capacity causing a hindrance in normal life activities, family and relationships. Simple and easy home cures can ward off the symptoms and bring much needed relief.

Ways To Cure PMS Naturally

Fennel Seeds

Fennel seeds are very common and are found in every home. They are rich in minerals like magnesium, iron, copper, potassium, iron and zinc. They are also a good source of vitamins A, B-complex group C and E.

Its essential oils have a cooling effect and ease and moderate menstruation. Take two teaspoons of fennel seeds and boil in one glass of water. Simmer for three minutes. Add honey to the tea and drink three to four cups daily. The symptoms will be tempered down considerably.

Lemongrass

Lemongrass is widely used for its medicinal benefits. It has sedative effects. It calms and soothes irritable nerves, restores emotional balance and tempers stress and anxiety. Its analgesic properties curb stomach cramps and pains and give an overall sense of well being. Always use fresh lemongrass stalks to relieve symptoms of PMS.

Break the lemongrass stalks into small pieces and steep one tablespoon of lemongrass in one cup of boiling water. Strain after five minutes and drink this tea hot, several times a day.

Aloe Vera Juice

Aloe vera juice is high in minerals and amino acids. It regulates the body functions, counteracts disease and alleviates pain. Its analgesic properties do much to tone down the symptoms of PMS.

Crush some thick juicy leaves of aloe vera to extract the juice. Take two tablespoons of this juice every morning. If you continue taking this juice for a prolonged period of time, your symptoms will not only diminish but will eventually go away completely.

Ajwain

Ajwain is extremely good for healing and treating diseases and dysfunctions of the body. Its essential oils have many soothing and health restoring properties. It is a great cleanser and rids the body of toxins.

Heat one cup of water. Dissolve a small lump of jaggery into it. Add one teaspoon of ajwain to it. Stir and cover the mixture. Let the ajwain soak in it for two minutes. Drink this mixture twice a day, every day for several months.

Green Tea

Green tea elevates the mood, curbs irritability, controls depression and enhances the body’s energies. Its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties provide relief in a number of diseases. Drink three cups of green tea everyday.
