Although less common than scalp dandruff, dandruff on the eyelashes affects a small number of people. The condition known as seborrheic blepharitis usually occurs in people suffering from severe dandruff of the scalp. This is a chronic condition. If proper steps are not taken to remove the dandruff from the eyelashes, it will irritate your eye and may lead to swelling of the eye tissues.

Warm Compress

Warm compress helps in cleaning the eyelash line and eyelashes and reduces irritation and itching caused by the dandruff. Soak a clean washcloth in warm water, wring to remove the excess water and place it on your closed eyes. Relax for a few minutes. Reapply the warm compress several times a day to keep your eyelashes dandruff-free.

Baby Shampoo

As baby shampoo does not irritate the eyes, it can be used for washing the eyelashes and removing the dandruff. Take a small amount of baby shampoo and mix it with warm water. Dip a clean cloth in the solution and gently rub your eyelash line and the eyelashes. Rinse with lukewarm water.

Aloe Vera Gel

After cleaning your eyelashes with baby shampoo, take a drop of aloe vera gel and rub it on the eyelash line and the eyelash. Aloe vera gel moisturizes the eyelash line and reduces the irritation. With regular use it banishes dandruff from your eyelashes.

Almond Oil

To treat dandruff on the eyelashes, you can apply warm almond oil on the lashes. Leave the oil on the lashes for 15 to 20 minutes and then wipe with a damp wash cloth. Almond oil moisturizes the dry eyelid skin and nourishes the hair follicles. Apart from treating dandruff, it stimulates re growth of the lashes you have lost because of dandruff.

Castor Oil

Dabbing castor oil on the eyelashes can also help in eliminating dandruff from the lashes. It also helps in soothing the eyelid and provides fast relief from irritation. With regular use, castor oil will make your eyelashes thicker.
