Check The Latch

It is sometimes seen that the baby has caught on the nipple in a wrong way. This may be resulting in the pain and discomfort. To get the position corrected you can hire a lactation consultant. They will help you position the baby correctly so that it latches on to the nipple correctly. This way the flow of milk will be uninterrupted, and you will not feel any pain.

Warm Bath

There may be some blockage in the milk ducts and that may be causing the pain. The blockage may be due to infection or inflammation.

Whatever be the reason behind it you can unblock the milk ducts with some hot bath or shower. Take a warm shower for at least 15 to 20 minutes. The warm water will flow over your breasts continuously and unblock the milk glands. This will ease the pain and restore regular flow of milk.

Got Thrush?

Thrush can be one reason behind problem with breastfeeding. This can occur in your nipples and the baby’s mouth which can cause soreness and pain. This is an yeast infection. Though you will not notice anything on the nipples you may see a white patch on the cheeks, gums and lips of the baby. If you notice that consult a doctor. Olive Oil
