It can be attributed to several underlying causes including diabetes, thyroid disorders, depression etc. Instead of worrying, all you need to do is to check out this list of home remedies for fighting lethargy.

Simple Home Remedies For Lethargy

Regular exercise increases blood circulation throughout your body. It further releases endorphins in your brain, keeping you mentally active. Exercise daily for at least 30 minutes to keep lethargy at bay.

You can do brisk walking, cycling, swimming, skipping or simply walking up and down the stairs. Make sure you warm up before following any exercise routine.

Enough Sleep

People with disturbed sleep or no sleep are the ones who experience lethargy the most. Ensure that you get sound sleep at night. Avoid work at night. Go to bed early.

Drink a glass of warm milk before you go to sleep at night. Ensuring sound sleep at night will give you high energy levels and proper concentration during the day.

Spinach

Just do what Popeye did. Include spinach in your daily diet and see the magic work. Spinach in rich in potassium and many B vitamins that uplift your spirit and make you more energetic. Eating plenty of spinach daily can stop you from feeling lethargic.

Tea And Coffee

Tea and Coffee contain caffeine that is known to boost your energy levels. Caffeine actually rejuvenates the brain and makes you focus on work.

Drinking tea and coffee can help you get rid of lethargy. However, note that if you also suffer from insomnia, you must avoid drinking too much of tea or coffee.

Head And Body Massage

Give yourself a head and body massage followed by a hot water bath. This calms your mind and gives your body muscles a good workout. You can follow this regime every alternate day. A head and body massage allows you to relax and rejuvenate, alleviating all symptoms of lethargy.

Lots Of Fluids

Drink 8 glasses of water daily. Include plenty of fruit juice in your diet. When engrossed in work, chances are that, you avoid drinking fluids and end up getting dehydrated, which is known to cause lethargy. Drinking lime juice or coconut water at regular intervals is also an excellent remedy for lethargy.

Elevate Your Feet

Lie on a sofa, preferably on your back. Use pillows to prop up your feet. Make sure that your feet are at a higher level than your head. This posture increases blood flow to your brain, boosting alertness and fighting lethargy. Do this at regular intervals, say every three hours or so.

In spite of following these home remedies, if you continue feeling lethargic for more than a month, consult a medical practitioner.
