Eyes are the most prominent organs that get affected in case of vitamin A deficiency. In severe cases there could be cases of xeropthalmia where the outer membrane of the eye could get dry. Xeropthalmia is caused due to the accumulation of dead cells that are cause when the body lacks in vitamin A.
Respiratory Infection
Apart from eye problems vitamin A deficiency could also lead to respiratory problems. If you see that dear one especially children is facing respiratory problem in the form of runny nose and frequent colds, he or she could be suffering from vitamin A deficiency.
Urinary Infections
In some cases there are infections in the urinary tract of young children. This has been reported to be a symptom of vitamin A deficiency.
